Vanadzor & the Pambak valley

Vanadzor — Karaklis in the 19th century, Kirovakan in Soviet times — is Armenia's third city and the practical base for the whole province: banks, hospitals, the bus station, cafés and most of the hotels. Around it the Pambak valley climbs south-east into thick forest at Margahovit and Fioletovo, a Molokan village of wooden houses, before the pass to Dilijan.
